Parish Workshops/Lectures
- A closer look at the Catholic Church’s hymns throughout the ages with
opportunity for sing-a-longs, “Name That Tune” challenges, requests for specific hymns with discussion as to why a particular hymn is on the “favorites” list.
- A closer look at how the texts of hymns teach about and strengthen our Faith with opportunity for open discussion and personal sharing on how a hymn strengthened personal faith at a special time in one’s life.
- A closer look at the melodies and harmonies that touch the soul and move the heart closer to God and why they seem to do that.
- If applicable, use of original compositions for prayerful reflection and teaching
- Discuss why the “view from the pew” is important in the overall music ministry of a parish and the dynamics of joyful congregational singing.
